What to Wear with…Genie Pants
Ahh….genie pants aka harem pants aka m.c. hammer pants. Call ‘em what you will, these large baggy pants with narrow tapered bottoms are back on the fashion scene. They first made their appearance on the runway of some of our favorite designers, which shocked and appalled us. Then our favorite fashion forward celebs started wearing them. Now that they’ve made it to the racks of some of our favorite stores, it’s only a matter of time before we start rockin’ them, right? For those adventurous fashionistas out there who want to try this look, but have no idea what the heck to wear it with, here are a few suggestions.

- Cropped Blazers – A blazer that’s cut off right by the waist will not only accentuate the shape of the pants but also your slim waistline
- Figure Hugging Top – Creating a contrast of form fitting on top and baggy below adds more shape to the entire look
- Belt – Cinches in the waist which makes the pants more figure flattering
- Cutout Sandals – Cutout sandals, high heeled gladiator sandals and strappy bootie sandals all go great with these pants for a more modern, edgy look. However, look for sandals in these categories that have a scoop out front. The continuation of skin from your ankle to your feet will make your legs appear longer and not cut off. Avoid sandals that have straps right around the ankle.
